Blow to OnePlus as Micromax Clinches the Deal for Cyanogen Support

OnePlus has just arrived in India but as soon as they entered into the marketplace, they got a big blow by the homegrown makers Micromax. Recently OnePlus has announced through their official blogs that OnePlus One models in India will not have the support of Cyanogen. Many ‘flagship killer’ lovers were waiting for the device as they were expecting this feature on the new model. However it is undoubtedly a disappointing report for them as there will be no official updates from Cyanogen on OnePlus One devices.

Micromax clinched the deal with Cyanogen through which they got the exclusive rights to offer the devices based on CynogenMod ROM operating system that works with Android. Now OnePlus devices in India will have Cyanogen OS but there will be no official updates in future. The deal of Micromax and Cyanogen hasn’t affected OnePlus outside India as they can easily offer the devices with official support for Cyanogen.

Many people were interested to purchase OnePlus One model in India due to the presence of Cyanogen OS. This Android based feature helps you to make the changes in your model as per your requirement without losing the official support of handset maker. It is very similar to rooting some high-end gadgets as you can add many new features as per your choice. This feature is extremely useful as you need not have to depend only on the pre-loaded characteristics and you can comfortably make changes on your gadget.

There are reports that Micromax is discussing the deal with many major e-commerce players as they want to offer the device through online mode only. The smartphone market and e-commerce business is growing exponentially in India and most of the big market players understand it very well. So it will be interesting to see how the online market will shape in coming times, many reports are claiming that OnePlus is working on their own platform to offer similar services in future.
