Currently there are no official reports for this smartwatch. However sources close to the industry are saying that Apple is working on this series from last three years. They have filed a patent for this gadget in July 2011 and they have started the work at the same time. It is an ‘electronic wristband’ that you can easily sync with your smartphone. It can have some special functions that will permit the users to connect it with some other gadgets like laptop/desktop, tablets and some more. Therefore the benefits can be huge as you can easily make the pair with other devices.

There are so many talks going around for its functions. Experts are saying that the device can work as a remote control for many apps you use on your smartphone. It can also have some health monitoring applications that can have accelerometers and haptic sensors.

Earlier there were some speculations that Swiss maker Swatch is working with Apple to bring this smartwatch. However Swatch denied these media reports and told that they are not working with Apple to bring any new watch. So far people are calling it iWatch but the final name is not clear at present. Some reports claim that it can also be called as iTime. So we have to wait for few more days to get some official announcement. This new smartwatch is going to increase the competition and other makers like Samsung may have to work harder to show their supremacy in this section.

Price: Sources suggest the pricing of the iWatch will be around $150 to $230, calling it an iPod replacement rather than a smartwatch.
